I am so excited to have Ashleigh Norris as a guest for this awesome episode. She is the newest addition to our team at the Simplicity Project and the Hormone Project. Ashleigh will share what working with a Nutritionist really is about, not only knowing which food to choose but how to live our lives.
Ashleigh was diagnosed with an autoimmune disease, Hashimoto’s Thyroiditis, at the age of 19. She knew nothing about autoimmunity then and made no real changes to her diet or lifestyle. She had no idea of the storm that was brewing inside her body. She lived her twenties out like anyone else and eventually reached a point of adrenal burnout so intense she could not get out of bed for work. That same week — almost a decade later — she was diagnosed with thyroid cancer. Since that day, everything shifted in her life. She left her high-stress job, enrolled in Nutrition School at the Institute of Holistic Nutrition full time to become a Certified Holistic Nutritionist.
Ashleigh’s job is to empower women when it comes to understanding nutrition, so they can feel energized and confident in their own ability to maintain optimal health and happiness long after they’re finished working with her.
These are the main topics discussed in this episode:
- Ashleigh talks about her health journey until becoming a Certified Holistic Nutritionist.
- Signs Ashleigh’s body was giving her about the thyroid imbalance she was suffering.
- The complete tests Ashleigh had.
- Reiki and energy healing.
- Linking emotions with disease management.
- Emotions get stuck and show signs in our physical bodies.
- The power of showing up as your authentic self.
- Tips to align your outer environment with the way you want to feel.
- Identify sources of toxicity at a relational level.
- Consider silicon and bpa alternatives.
- Detoxifying your home.
- Ashleigh’s Workshops, a place to share at a deeper level.
- Creating sustainable habits.
- The confusion with autoimmunity.
- Learning to calm your immune system.
- Recognizing when you are entering panic mode.
Hoping you are as excited as I am to learn more from Ashleigh, always aiming to achieve healing and unleashing your potential through eating, moving and living better. Wishing more simplicity and ease in all that you do!
