Ep. #129 | Your Thoughts Create Your Physiologic Reality with Victoria Albina
Today, I am excited to share a great talk I had with Victoria Albina during which we discussed very common themes in women’s lives. From what it’s like being “the good girl”, “the fixer” and taking on other people’s burdens and emotions. We talk about how to get ourselves out of these patterns while also becoming more observant rather than reactive.
Victoria Albina is a Certified Life Coach and Breathwork Meditation Guide with a passion for helping women realize that they are their own best healers, so they can break free from codependency, perfectionism, and people-pleasing and reclaim their joy.
She is a UCSF-trained Family Nurse Practitioner, has a Masters degree in Public Health from Boston University School of Public Health, and a BA in Latin American Studies from Oberlin College. Victoria has been working in health & wellness for over 20 years and lives on occupied Lenape territory in New York’s Hudson Valley.
Here are the main topics of this amazing conversation:
- Victoria talks about her own healing journey.
- Victoria shares how she leads her practice.
- Expectations, obligations, and conceptualization of self can become patterns that deregulate the nervous system.
- The state of your nervous systems dictates the story that you feed into your body.
- What is the polyvagal system?
- How do you begin the work after you raise your awareness?
- Acceptance can be really challenging.
- Working on your balance.
- How we use distractions to get away from certain feelings.
- The role of dopamine in your body.
- Choose your actions intentionally.
- Learn to separate the circumstances of life and our thoughts.
- Victoria gives advice to those women who are ready to make the mindset shift but struggle with the consequences that this might bring to their relationships.
- Trust yourself to love yourself.
- Victoria shares her favorite tool against personal criticism.

I wanted to share one of our listener’s question:
“I am struggling with dry skin! Drinking water and eating healthy fats is not helping… What can I do?”
- My first tip is for you to start adding collagen into your water or smoothies to become more hydrated and improve the quality of your skin from an internal perspective. I love Beauty Greens Collagen from SUNWARRIOR, these are collagen building peptides, which means that they are helping your body to produce collagen at a cellular level.
When buying at SUNWARRIOR use the code simplicity2020 and save 10% off your purchase.
- Are you properly exfoliating your skin? Do you know your skin type? I love exfoliants that have a powder base, those only require you to add a little water and then massage them into your skin. One of the reasons for dry skin could be lack of drainage and lymphatic support. The exfoliant that I use is called Facial In A Jar from Skin Essence Organics, I leave it on as a mask and it leaves my skin soft and beautiful. It is a perfect routine to end your day, I highly recommend it.
While shopping at Skin Essence enter the code jennpike20 in your first order for 20% OFF your purchase and jennpike15 for 15% OFF in all your following orders. www.skinessence.ca — Canada www.skinessenceorganics.com — USA and International.
- Calendula is magical! Especially for dry hands after the extra sanitizing we all have been doing lately. Sain Francis Herb Farm offers Calendula with Vitamin E which is simply amazing!
Create a more simple life with Saint Francis Herb Farm products. You can purchase Saint Francis Herb Farm’s products online using the code Jennpike15 and save 15% off all of your purchases or directly in your closest Health Food Store.
