So many uses in one little bottle…
I absolutely LOVE using essentials oils. I use them in pure bases of almond oil, jojoba oil and both shea and coconut butter for the whole family’s skin nourishing and moisturizing needs. I open the bottle of my oil and add as many drops of essential oil that I feel I need to get the right balance of smell without being to over-powering. Some of my favorite scents are lavender, sweet orange, vanilla, ylang ylang and grapefruit.
I also have some other great ways to use them and thought I would share:
- add 12-15 drops to 1/4 cup of sea salts or epsom salts for a spa like bath
- place drops on air vents to freshen the air in your rooms
- place a few drops on a kleenex and leave in your linen drawer or tea towel drawer, leave in closets where you store shoes
- use as a diffuser in your bedroom for a great nights sleep or place a ‘treated’ kleenex into your pillow case
- Mix 24 drops with 4 oz. of water in a spritzer bottle for a chemical free, aromatic room freshener. Amazing for your babies and kids rooms too!
- Spray on household plants to discourage bugs and pests
- Use 1-2 drops on glue or grease to help lift it (true story)
- Place a few drops in your green bin and garbage bins to improve scent and discourage bugs
- add 12 drops to 1/4 cup salt and rub on your cutting boards, rinse with hot water to purify
- MY FAVORITE thing to do is mix 1 cup of coconut oil with as much organic brown sugar as I think I need to be it evenly smooth and coarse, then add about 12-20 drop of oil in and mix them all together into a luxurious body scrub. You won’t even need to moisturize after your shower!
You can also take a quick sniff to lift your spirits right out of the bottle!
You can easily find these oils in stores that have a natural health or skincare section, the Bulk Barn and definitely your larger full spectrum organic and health stores.
Have fun playing around with all the different individual scents and combinations you can create.
