How to Avoid Seasonal Weight Gain
Alright, I don’t know about you, but I have seen seasonal decorations already tacked up and shining bright. That means it’s official – it’s the holiday season. Before we get into the full swing of things, I wanted to share some tips for how to avoid seasonal weight gain.
- Be Prepared. Food prep and menu planning – set yourself up for success and optimum energy.
- Eat More Colours! You need all of the micro-nutrients contained in the vast variety of vegetables and especially leafy greens. Carrots, sweet potatoes, turnips, brussel sprouts, cauliflower, broccoli, rapini, spinach, swiss chard, bok choy – the list goes on and on – learn to LOVE your veggies. Sautee them, roast them or bake them, it is truly simple. Try this: chop up your root veggies, dress them with a little bit of coconut or avocado oil, some of your favourite herbs and spices and simply bake them at 350°F for 30-45 minutes.
- Exercise. MOVE YOUR BODY EVERYDAY! You don’t have to dedicate an hour each day to your movement, but you do have to make time for it, even if it’s just 5-10 minutes. Here is a >>8-minute hip opening hippy flow that you can try<<
- Get your rest. Don’t neglect your sleep, it is so vital to help you adapt to stress and balance your hormones.
