Hormonally Balanced Skin Care

If you have ever taken one of my online courses like The Simplicity Project Online, or The Hormone Project, you have heard me talk before about the importance of natural good quality skin care and the effects that is has on us hormonally.  With so many estrogen-mimicking hormones continually being added to our everyday commercial body, skin, hair and feminine care products, our bodies are continually being bombarded with chemical forms of estrogen throwing our intrinsic balance of our hormones out of whack and out of sync.

For the past 10 years all that I have used on myself, my husband and our two children as a body moisturizer are made up of two things: a carrier oil paired with essential oils. I alternate between almond oil, jojoba, and coconut oil and below is a sample of one of my favorites to make; it also makes a great gift.

This therapeutic blend offers a sweet, floral aroma that helps to relieve anxiety, calm the nerves, relax the muscles and often helps to induce sleep.

Soothing & Moisturizing Oil

  • 1 cup jojoba oil base
  • 20-40 drops of chamomile essential oil (doTERRA is my go-to brand, due to quality)
  • 20-40 drops of lavender essential oil (again, doTERRA)

Combine all ingredients in a glass or BPA-free storage container. Tightly cap the bottle and shake vigorously. No refrigeration is required, but for maximum fragrance and potency, use within 2 years…trust me it will NEVER last that long, you will use this everyday! You can also add 1-2 tbsp of this oil into your or your children’s bath as the water is running, and they will come out with smooth and silky skin; totally relaxed and ready to sleep.
