Ep #82 | The Root Causes of Weight Gain: How to Lose Weight For The Long Term
Today I am sharing a master class about weight loss, but don’t expect to hear tips on how you should be eating or exercising in order to lose weight, this episode is dedicated to finding the root causes of your difficulties losing weight and why you are gaining it in the first place.
In these times of social isolation, many people have come to me with questions and worries about weight. I have to confess I find myself many times in the kitchen when I am not even hungry; anxiety is often channelled that way, but at the same time it is making our bodies feel uncomfortable.
There are foundational elements you need to understand before you start a new diet or approach. During this show, I explain the main concepts about Time Restrictive Eating (TRE), Intermittent Fasting, Macro Tracking, and blood sugar levels as well as sharing great biohacking tips and exercise and movement recommendations. Remember: You have to be healthy in order to lose weight for the long term. The aim of this class is to focus on the food you are choosing (how, when and why you are making those decisions), and why you should redefine your eating habits for the sake of better health.
These are the main topics of this awesome master class:
- The current state of your health.
- Gas and bloating.
- Easy hacks to help your digestion.
- What healthy bowel movements look like.
- The role of the gut microbiome in your weight.
- A food diary includes what you are eating and how it makes you feel.
- Aging and weight gain.
- Your hormonal balance.
- Drink enough water (at least 3 liters a day).
- Blood sugar stability: how often are you eating?
- Check the combination of your meal: Protein, Fat, and Fiber.
- Are you drinking too much alcohol? Why are you drinking? How does it make you feel?
- Eating close to bedtime and its effects on your health.
- Intermittent fasting.
- Time Restrictive Eating (TRE).
- Pros and cons of macronutrient tracking.
- Exercise and moving are not the same.
- Walking, Pilates, yoga and strength training.
- High-intensity interval training.
- Biohacking your way in 7 simple steps.
Listen to what feels good to your body! Hoping you can put into action some of these tips and start enjoying the benefits to your overall health. Wishing more simplicity and ease in all that you do!
