My goodness! how in the heck has 1 month past since I last wrote a little something for you?!?!

You will be excited to know why I haven’t been blogging much lately…my new book is only ONE chapter away from being complete!

The Simplicity Project~ A Simple No-Nonsense Approach to Losing Weight & Getting Your Body Back will be out January 2013!

As my apology i am sharing with you all this AMAZING recipe that will have your biggest skeptics and new food haters falling at your creative little feet:)

Instead of buying junky, processed Nutella for your family try this uber-balanced, yummy little treat.  You can drizzle warm over french toast or pancakes, put on toast or Ezekiel english muffins or like we did today; thinly slice freshly made vegan walnut banana bread and spread between two small slices to make a ‘sandwich-of-chocolately- heaven’.

Then tell your children they an have a small piece with fresh fruit and a glass of unsweetened almond milk for breakfast… Mom of the year award right there!

Dark Chocolate Honey Almond Spread

1 cup organic almond butter

1-2 tablespoons organic cocoa powder raw cacao

1/4 cup organic semi-sweet chocolate chips or carob chips

1 tbsp honey

1 tsp coconut oil

pinch of sea salt

Melt honey, chocolate chips or carob chips and coconut oil together and stir in the 2 tablespoons of cocoa powder until well combined.

Mix thoroughly with almond butter adding a pinch of salt and voila! You have yourself a 10x healthier homemade version of Nutella!

Seal this in a glass mason jar in the fridge for up to 1 month

Enjoy!
