Ep #114 | Seven Imbalances in a Woman’s Body: PMS and PMDD: You Are not Meant to Suffer
Today I am going to take you on the journey of understanding the difference between PMS and PMDD, unfortunately, this is another subject in which we haven’t got the proper education, and our girls are suffering due to this miseducation. I recently read a message that was supposed to be a little text for yourself in the morning that said something like this: “Dear beauty, I know today is the first day of your period but you are not meant to suffer.” So many of us have grown up believing that we are to dread our period, like some sort of curse and that it is impossible to not be moody and emotional, that our boobs are going to hurt and we will be crampy and in pain. These beliefs have only fed the disconnection from our bodies. Please listen: It does not have to be this way! That is why I am dedicating this episode to talking about PMS and PMDD, so you can tell the difference and have more tools to read the signs your body is giving you.
Here are the main topics of today’s episode:
- What can you expect a week prior to your period?
- PMS (Premenstrual syndrome): symptoms and signs.
- PMDD (Premenstrual dysphoric disorder) is much less common than PMS.
- The emotional signs that you shouldn’t ignore.
- Root causes of your dis-ease.
- The limitations of the regular blood tests.
- The right tests to assess your hormonal health.
- Why you should track your cycle.
- Moving your body according to the different phases of your menstrual cycle.
- Triggers for PMS.
- How to help your body to get rid of the excess of hormones.
- Do not neglect your protein intake!
- Quality sleep is a must!
- Are you supplementing well?
- Tips to reduce your stress.
- The products you are using also have an impact on how you are feeling.
- The relationship between antidepressants and gut function.
- Progesterone and your brain.
- Castor oil benefits.
Ladies, I hope you learned something from this episode, something that you can put into practice or may be information that can help a woman you love realize that none of us needs to suffer from our periods, but rather take them as an opportunity to listen to the signs they give us every single month in regards to our overall health. Wishing more simplicity and ease in all that you do!
