Detoxify your home
Most of us have heard that cleaning supplies are not healthy to inhale. We have all seen the warning labels on virtually all our cleaning supplies, but almost none of us listen to these warnings. Law requires these “caution,” “warning,” and “danger” labels. Here is what these labels mean:
CAUTION | An ounce to a pint may be fatal or harmful if swallowed, inhaled or absorbed through the skin by an adult 180-pound man. |
WARNING | A teaspoon to an ounce may be fatal or harmful if swallowed, inhaled or absorbed through the skin by an adult 180-pound man. |
DANGER | A taste to a teaspoon is fatal if swallowed, inhaled or absorbed through the skin by an adult 180-pound man. |
**Chart found on http://www.healthycleaning.com/
Now, looking at this information, let’s take a step back and think. If these amounts are fatal to a 180-pound man, how would a baby or young child react? What about when these substances are inhaled daily for 60 years? Or, if 20 substances all having warning labels are used together creating a ‘chemical soup.’ None of these things have been tested, and that is what we need to watch out for!
It is easy, inexpensive, and effective to make your own cleaning supplies.
