Saying No So That You Can Say YES To Yourself
Sometimes you just have to say no. If you allow yourself to be everybody’s yes every day when you have time to say yes to yourself?
When you say no, it creates more space to say yes, to the things that truly light you up and keep you grounded.
Every day I am inundated with requests for writing certain pieces being a part of a group, doing a certain event, having a phone call and loads of emails to return; and while I am ridiculously grateful for all the incredible networking friendships and business-ships that I have I simply cannot say yes to all of them
They come from good places and from AMAZING people but I know enough in myself now when I have tried to do it all in the past I was the one who suffered
I choose now instead to take things at my own pace to remind myself an email will still be there tomorrow, meetings can happen via the phone or skype to reduce more travel & time and all of the incredible offerings to come my way will still be there if I don’t say yes today.
Here’s the thing: if I don’t live authentically to my message the simplicity project – simplifying all things you do for healthier happier better way of living how can I possibly expect other people to follow my message and manifest this themselves.
I also know if I wish this for myself I have to extend the same offering to people in my life, so when you don’t email me back the same day you don’t return my message I don’t take it personally, I don’t fret and I definitely don’t sweat over what it might possibly ‘mean’?
I simply trust. I trust the email, the phone call, the conversation…they will all happen when they are meant to. I also trust that if someone isn’t getting back to me perhaps it’s because they’re doing the same that I am taking a deep breath, or already working on the many things on their current to-do list, perhaps spending time with their family or simply being
From my simplicity project and healthy loving heart to yours I hope you take some time to reflect today the pressure you may put not only on yourselves but sometimes on others and instead take a deep breath , drink a smoothie, go for a walk, exhale OMMM or have a sip of wine sit back and smile
Much love to u all today xxoo
Ps…I enjoy the odd grammatical error – reminds me I’m human:-)
