Make Your Body Work
I am SO excited to share with you my recent appearance on Dave Smith’s Podcast “Make Your Body Work” I recently recorded this podcast with the inspiring Dave Smith, and this baby is all about Fad Diets.
Are you a fad dieter? Are you sure? How many different diets can you think of right off the top of your head? Well, there’s Paleo, low-carb, low-fat, high-protein, Atkins…Next question: How many diets have you personally tried? If you’re switching up your diet over and over, looking for results but never seeing the progress you’d like, it’s time to rethink your approach to (and relationship with) food.
What we go over in this episode:
- Everything begins with the gut! Heal Your Digestive System
- Get Professional Advice
- Food Rotation: Ensure Some Variety On Your Plate
- How to Approach Meal Planning
- Symptoms Only You Can Feel
- Introduce New Food, Cut Out What You Don’t Need

- Make Your Body Work Takeaway
We already had some amazing feedback from one our listeners, Cassie writes:
“I just want to thank you for choosing to address my question with Jenn Pike! She was very spot on. Since writing my question to you, I’ve also connected with a local naturopath who has gone through and identified that I have leaky gut and pretty much every food that Jenn mentioned as a potential allergen plus a few more like pork, beef and all nuts are causing severe inflammation in my body.
The diet that I’ve been following for the past couple years; the Weston A. Price style diet, may be good for some, but for me, it is loaded with foods that are hurting me, not helping me.
I’ve been eating a plant-based diet for the past 2 weeks with just a little chicken and turkey every few days and have already lost 6 pounds(!) and am beginning to really feel energized and happier!
I thought I would be hungry going more plant-based, but I’m actually just fine, maybe because the inflammation is turning off. I think in my case, I really needed a plan more customized than something out of a book and that basically backs up what Jenn had to say too. Great podcast, great answer to my question. Keep doing what you’re doing, you’re doing good work!”
