I have had many, many teachers in this life. A lot of them older, more experienced than myself and I love learning from their journey’s however, I find myself most intrigued by the youngest teachers of all…my children, their friends, the children I see in the hallways at school, at hockey, dance, in the grocery store, at the studio or simply passing by me in life.

I believe there is a teacher in us all. When we feel as though we know more than someone else simply because we are older, more ‘experienced’ or have been here longer I think its sad.

I have often said in my classes and workshops that if you ever begin to feel a disconnect with your body and aren’t sure what to do watch small children. They rest when in discomfort, they cry when the need comes on, they hug and love unconditionally, they sleep when their body asks for it, they are honest and blunt and say it like it is because they haven’t been conditioned to do anything otherwise, they squat to go to the washroom, they stretch first thing in the morning, they fuel their bodies in small portions often throughout the day, they ask question; LOTS and LOTS of questions, they write amazing stories and little letters without caring if the grammar or spelling is 100%, they get angry, feel frustrated and honestly emote their feelings and then let them go, they do not hold grudges…they love again.IMG_0879

I choose to surround myself with many teachers as I realize and remember that I too am still a child – we all are, I too am a student – we all are, I too am a teacher – we all are and that I too LOVE THIS LIFE!
