A few weeks back I was honoured enough to be offered the delicious opportunity to take part in a 5 day raw food cleanse with my friend Celeste’s new restaurant’s Nourish summer launch…I, of course JUMPED at the chance and eagerly awaited my first delivery. 

When I heard the knock at my door, I am not kidding you I literally skipped down the hallway like I was five years old and Santa was arriving with presents (haha). Words can’t even describe, and this picture does not even do it justice, just how beautiful and yummy and everything looked.

To give you a glimpse of exactly what I was nourishing my body with, here is what my first 3 days consisted of:

Day 1 ~ 

Breakfast – Mango Parsley Power Smoothie

Lunch – Kale Avocado Salad

Dinner – Zucchini Cannelloni 

Dessert – Spiced Chocolate Ball and Super Seed Protein Ball

Day 2 ~

Lunch – Spring Roll Wrap with Spicy Thai Almond Sauce

Snack – Trail Mix

Dinner – Zucchini Pesto Puttanesca

Dessert – Coconut Dream bar

Day 3 ~

Breakfast – Tropical Spinach Smoothie

Snack – pear

Lunch – Garlicky Romaine Salad

Snack – Kale Chips

Dinner – Curried Vegetables with Cilantro Cauliflower Rice

Dessert – Berry Cheesecake Square

I am not exaggerating when I say, the portions were beyond generous, in fact my three days actually stretch into 5 days because I was so full from each meal and snack that I couldn’t finish everything. 

AND I still had 2 additional days delivered to my home! My five days NOURISHED me about 7 days.

The smoothies and fresh fruit I could consume in one sitting, no problem but everything actually provided me nearly 2 meals worth. I would either share with my family (if they were lucky:) or save it for later in the day and push my other meal into the next day. 

Celeste and the incredible Pedja, who is their Raw Chef EXTRAODINAIRE have done such a beautiful job with this and have been more then generous with serving sizes, you truly get some much value back from your investment in this cleanse. 

Some of the biggest and most immediate benefits for me on this cleanse were this:

  • incredible convenience, to walk into my kitchen and open my fridge and have everything done was priceless
  • the flavour and synergy of textures, spices, aromas and yum that they created were perfect!
  • my energy was amazing and for me teaching 7 classes per week, plus the gym 5 days weekly and 2 days of my own personal practice, running a business, non-stop writing, 2 young children and living life THIS ENERGY was truly a gift.
