Simple and inexpensive flaxseeds are like a timeless piece of food-art.

The flaxseed is still one of the best preventative health measures you can take, for both your gut and heart health. These babies pack a nutrient dense punch, as the lignins in flaxseed protect heart health, provide a great source of fiber and essential fatty acids and help to modulate hormone metabolism.

Make sure whether whole or ground, to store your flaxseeds in the fridge or freezer for up to 6 months for optimum freshness. Grind fresh organic flax seeds in a coffee grinder or blender and add 1-2 tbsp on coconut yogurt, oatmeal or in a smoothie, daily. You can also buy pre-ground flax seeds to save yourself some time in the kitchen.

Why do you have to use ground flax seeds? Our body cannot digest whole flaxseeds, and they will pass right through your system, making it nearly impossible to reap the benefits from this super-seed. So grind them up and enjoy!
