We have been asked a lot of questions about reoccurring ear infections. This week on ‪#‎SimplicityTV we are joined by guest expert Dr. Laura Foster. Laura and Jenn discuss tools and strategies for preventing and caring for ear infections.

Top 3 Nutrition Tips for Preventing Ear Infections:

  1. Build a Happy Gut – A good quality probiotic supplement is a foundational must to keeping your gut populated with healthy bacteria, which in turn keeps you and your child armed toward infections. Probiotic rich foods you can include for a boost: kombucha tea, miso soup, ghee, sauerkraut, cultured coconut yogurt
  2. Eliminate Dairy – not only is dairy highly allergenic, possibly causing digestive upset, but dairy is also mucus forming.
  3. Limit Sugar – Nothing suppresses the immune system quite like sugar can. Research has shown the 8 tsp of sugar (equivalent of 1 can of pop) inhibits your immune system by 40%, for a minimum of 5 hours, making it difficult to defend itself against invaders.

Treating Ear Infections:

St Francis Ear Oil – Contains Olive Oil, Mullein, Calendula, Garlic, and St. John’s Wort
